Hello! Congratulations on the release of your second full album [2]. Could you please say hello to the readers of M Countdown Magazine?

Greetings to all the M Countdown Magazine readers❤️ We are (G)I-DLE, making our return with our title track ‘Super Lady’ from our latest studio album, [2]!
 

It's truly remarkable how you've been prolific across singles, mini albums, and full albums. What are your thoughts on reaching your second studio album milestone?

We are happy to be able to continue making music, and we are especially grateful to our fandom, NEVERLAND.
 

You have presented many works that focus on strong self-esteem as a keyword so far. What message did you want to convey with this album [2]?
 

The keywords for our album are still ‘confidence’ and ‘high self-esteem’. We hoped to share with NEVERLAND and all our fans through this album that they are indeed more fabulous and of great worth!

The title of your track ‘Super Lady’ is fascinating. What is the meaning behind the song?
 

Our aim was to depict ourselves as strong, admirable artists that everyone looks up to.

‘Super Lady’ features a dynamic arrangement that skillfully shifts between different tempos. Was there anything you paid special attention to while working on the music?

We made sure that the song allowed for dancing in every section.
 

The music video for ‘Super Lady’ showcases not only the captivating homage to various characters but also the mega crew's charisma. Shooting such an impactful and grand music video must have been a unique experience. Could you describe what that was like for you?
 

It posed a significant challenge for us. Although it was difficult, we dedicated ourselves to extensive practice to ensure we delivered a spectacular performance.

 

You’ve released songs with captivating ‘killing parts’ like ‘TOMBOY’ and ‘Queencard’. Is there a particular killing part in ‘Super Lady’ you’d like to emphasize?

For ‘Super Lady,’ we particularly love the outro. It features a shift in beat and mood, culminating in a dynamic dance break. We highly recommend giving this part a listen!
 

Viewing the music video for ‘Wife,’ the uniform bob haircuts and matching outfits stand out as quite distinctive. What was the motivation behind this concept?

We aimed to reveal a side of us that's both free and uniquely unexpected.
 

Your album also captures a wide variety of musical styles, from ‘Revenge,’ which blends rock with Latin rhythms, to ‘7Days,’ a song with a catchy melody that feels fresh. How did you approach the challenge of masterfully handling such diverse musical styles?

MINNIE: I wrote the song ‘Vision,’ and it was fun working with MIYEON for the first time on this! For ‘7Days,’ I tried to present my songwriting style, which NEVERLAND, our fandom, has always loved, in a new light.
 

With leader SOYEON at the forefront, all members of (G)-IDLE participated in writing or composing tracks for this album. When conceptualizing music, what do you focus on primarily?

Instead of sticking to a specific focus, we aim to encapsulate and express whatever emotions or situations we find ourselves in through our music. Just like with our other songs, this track is imbued with the emotions we were experiencing at that moment!

You're known for your honest and unique lyrics. How would you like to be remembered by your fans?

We aspire to be remembered as fearless artists who boldly pursue the music we love. We have a strong passion for fully realizing the feel, concept, and theme of new songs, which might seem excessive at times, but we're grateful to NEVERLAND for loving those aspects of us!

Following your English album [HEAT], this album also includes English tracks like ‘Rollie’ and ‘7Days’ to connect with global fans. Do you have a message for your international fans supporting (G)-IDLE?

We prepare English tracks hoping to bring our gratitude closer to NEVERLAND, who support us warmly from afar. We'd be truly happy if you enjoy them, and we hope our sincerity reaches you. We love you❤️
 

Lastly, could you share a message for your fandom NEVERLAND, who has been consistently supporting (G)-IDLE, as we start 2024?

NEVERVER~ We are truly thankful for your constant patience and immense support. We've started this year with ‘Super Lady,’ and we hope to continue this momentum together for the rest of the year! We love you!
