The group P1Harmony, which turns unknown possibilities into reality through harmony, has returned with their sixth mini album . As can be inferred from the title of their album, it was impressive how they poured their all into lyric writing, composing, rap making, and more in this album. We, M Countdown Magazine, got to hear about their bold ambitions.

Hello! Congratulations on the release of your sixth mini album. Could you first say hello to the readers of M Countdown Magazine?

Plus everything! Hello, we are P1Harmony! 
We have made a comeback with our title track ‘JUMP’ showing a new side of ourselves! We ask for your lots of interest and support for our latest album !

The word ‘ALL IN’ in the title of your new album is quite striking. What is the meaning behind this title? 
 

It means that we went ALL IN with everything! This album is where you can see P1Harmony taking a leap, as we poured our all into it, essentially making a ‘jump’ to a higher level!

What is the main musical concept of your new album [HARMONY : ALL IN]?

This time, we tried to showcase a variety of musical genres that we haven’t attempted before. 
 

You are known as a group that all the members participate in lyric writing and composing. Did you also take part in the music-making process this time? Could you also tell us in what parts you were involved?

Yes, we participated in lyric writing and composing for this album as well. INTAK and JONGSEOB were involved in rap making for all the tracks. Also, in our self-composed song More than words, JONGSEOB and INTAK participated in lyric writing, and KEEHO was involved in composing. JIUNG participated in both lyric writing and composing.

What do you think were the most satisfying parts for each of you while making this album?

As we, the members, are involved in lyric writing, composing, melody line making, and flow design for every album, we keep trying new things to express new colors and feelings. Through this continuous effort, we feel satisfied that we were able to present verses with slightly different vibes in this album.

The title track ‘Jump’ of your new album has a stronger emphasis on dance compared to the previous title ‘Back Down’. Were there any key dance moves that you thought were important?

Just like the title of our track is ‘JUMP,’ the key dance move is that we keep jumping in every chorus.

Performing those dynamic dance moves must require a lot of energy, and it seems like you would need to focus on physical conditioning. Do you have any tips or know-how for maintaining your condition?

If there is a day where we have some free time, even if it's just one day, we think it's important for physical management not to overexert ourselves and take that day to rest our bodies.

Where do you think the killing part of ‘Jump’ is?

All the members have really owned their respective parts, so it feels like each part is the killing part. We would be grateful if you could listen to the song closely and pay attention to each member's voice!

What was a particularly memorable experience for you during the filming of the ‘Jump’ music video?

When we were dancing during the chorus section, the staff lined up in a straight line in front of us and sang along to our song, which made the shooting much more enjoyable! That's the most memorable moment! 

 

In the teaser videos for the tracks on your album, the members took on the concept of being DJs introducing music. How did each of you choose those songs for any particular reason?

We went through a fair process amongst ourselves and selected the songs that we felt suited each of us the best.

The line ‘Nobody can love me like I do, Like I do, me’ from the song ‘Love me for me’ is the most memorable.

You continued the ‘HARMONY’ series with your album , followed by , and now with this album. What is the message you want to convey through this series?

As we continue the HARMONY series, we’ve made efforts to finally achieve harmony and to express that harmony on stage. We wanted to show how we, as a group, are growing through the increasing chemistry and synergy as we spend more time together. We hoped that by seeing us, our fans, the P1eces, would gain great strength. Our message is to always make our fans feel excited when they see us, and to help them cast away their worries and concerns!

You recently garnered attention for your collaboration with the British band New Hope Club. How was the experience of working with international artists?

It seems like it was an experience where we could learn many new things, not just in music. Like us, New Hope Club also makes music that contains their own colors, and being artists from different cultural backgrounds, it allowed us to learn a lot.

You have been selected as one of the ‘11 K-Pop Boy Groups To Watch In 2023’ by the Grammy. Do you have any words you would like to convey to your international fans from various countries?

Hey fans from all over the world! We really appreciate all the love and support you've been giving us during this comeback. We hope to bring you guys joy and happiness with our music and performances and most importantly be artists that you are proud of! We hope to see you soon!

Lastly, what goals do you want to achieve in the future? 

We want to continue growing as P1Harmony and stand on bigger and more stages in the future as well.
