Found you, oh my girl! Hello, we are OH MY GIRL!!

This is your return after 1 year and 4 months since your second full album [Real Love]. How do you feel about being back on stage as a complete group after such a long time?

HYOJUNG: We feel really great as this is an album we've prepared diligently, and we all chose the song for our comeback together. Above all, we're truly happy to be able to meet our fandom MIRACLE, who have waited for us for so long!

This being OH MY GIRL's first album activity as a six-member group, it seems like the determination will be exceptional. What was your mindset when preparing for the album?

MIMI: While preparing for this album, it seems like all of us approached it with the mindset of enjoying ourselves. Taking hard work for granted, we focused on being able to freely express that enjoyable energy on stage.

The title [Golden Hourglass] is unique. Many people might be curious about its meaning, so could you please explain it briefly?

SEUNGHEE: It's a compound word made of ‘Golden Time’ and ‘Hourglass,’ and it contains the meaning that we will show everyone this shining moment, and by flipping the hourglass ourselves, we can create those shining moments anytime.

From that perspective, it seems like there is a great deal of meaning encapsulated in it. Is there a specific goal you want to achieve with this album [Golden Hourglass]?

YooA: Since we considered many aspects while preparing the album, we want many people to recognize it as unmistakably OH MY GIRL!

When it comes to OH MY GIRL, the image of a ‘Summer Music Powerhouse’ definitely comes to mind. In this album of yours as well, all the tracks showcase a lively rhythm and refreshing sound, strongly emitting a summer vibe. Did you want to reveal OH MY GIRL's distinct strength in this album as well?

YUBIN: We had a lot of concerns while preparing for this album. We thought it was crucial to find a balance between the direction we wanted to show in the future and what the fans wanted to see from us. After much discussion among the members, we concluded that doing what we love and are good at would satisfy both of those aspects. We also struggled a lot with song selection, but above all, we had a strong desire to vividly showcase the bright and cheerful energy that is unique to OH MY GIRL.\

What kind of charm does your title track ‘Summer Comes’ have?

ARIN: I think our title track ‘Summer Comes’ has a charm that makes you feel good and refreshed when you listen to it during the hot summer weather right now~ Especially! It's a great song to listen to while driving!

Was there anything you paid special attention to while recording this song in order to capture its refreshing sentiment?
 

MIMI: Since it's a song where the refreshing feel and energy are important, we recorded it in such a way that it would gradually build up to match the flow of the song.

The music video for this comeback is also impressive, as it casually incorporates elements of horror movies.Were there any memorable episodes during the filming?
 

SEUNGHEE: The zombie scene is particularly memorable. The actors performed so realistically that it was genuinely terrifying. I remember us screaming a lot, and the fact that we physically pushed away the actors playing the zombies remains in my memory. We felt sorry and very thankful to them!

You have also been actively participating in TikTok challenges recently. What's the key dance move in the 'Summer Comes' performance?
 

YooA: There are many moves where we stretch out our hands, offering a refreshing energy, but there are also moves using our fingers that give off a cute vibe. The key point in the dance is the choreography that resembles a conch shell.

Do you have your own way to enjoy summer then? If there's a hidden secret, could you please let us know a little?
 

YUBIN: Personally, I don't feel the heat much, so I tend not to drink a lot of cold water even in the summer. Instead, after doing a lot of exercise, I feel recharged and good if I have some cool fruit and a glass of water.

HYOJUNG, you tried a radical blonde transformation for this album. It must have been a tough decision for you too, but aren't you satisfied seeing the hot reactions from those around?

HYOJUNG: Since it's a summer comeback, and the fans, MIRACLE, wanted to see a new look, I decided to muster up the courage to bleach my hair.

The pre-release single of this album of yours, and your fan song ‘Miracle,’ celebrating OH MY GIRL's 8th anniversary, are also precious songs that you can't leave out, right? All the members participated in writing the lyrics, so what scenes did you imagine while writing the lyrics?
 

ARIN: From the day MIRACLE and we first met to this very moment, if we look back, everything comes to mind, from the initial trembling and excitement, to the tense moments, to the grateful scenes we've experienced together through various events. We wrote the lyrics to express the gratitude and preciousness we always feel towards our fandom, MIRACLE!

Then, is there a track among your unmentioned included songs that you would like us to listen to?
 

HYOJUNG: There's a song called ‘Dirty Laundry’! It's a soothing song, so just listening to it has a healing effect. It's also catchy, so you'll be able to remember it easily once you hear it.

Lastly, could you say a word to MIRACLE who have stood by OH MY GIRL's side for a long 8 years?
 

SEUNGHEE: Thank you for leading and comforting us, allowing us to get this far. You are the spring of OH MY GIRL. Thank you for becoming the season that let us to start again.
